The River Friendly Farmer Program is a collaborative effort of government agencies, agricultural organizations, conservation districts and farmers whose common goals are improving water quality and restoring and sustaining human and wildlife habitat in Indiana’s watersheds. With a focus on environmental stewardship, the annual award recognizes farmers who protect and enhance Indiana’s rivers, lakes and streams by using sound cropping and livestock management practices in their operations. Hoosier agriculture operations are recognized for their outstanding farm management practices that protect soil and water resources. 2007: Danny Young of Wolcottville and Ralph Ziebell of South Milford, Indiana were the LaGrange County recipients of the prestigious 2007 River Friendly Farmer Award at the 2007 151st Indiana State Fair. 2006: Mark Grossman of Wolcottville and Dewey J.
